Job Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED preferred
  • Two-year college or technical school degree preferred
  • One year of kitchen experience preferred
  • Current Food Handler's Permit required
  • Ability to handle physical demands such as standing, walking, bending, grasping, pushing, pulling, carrying heavy objects up to 50 pounds
  • Must have open availability including Sundays
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, and wet conditions
  • Must be able to follow established policies and procedures
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

  • Current Food Handler's Permit
  • Ability to use good judgment and to make decisions quickly and independently
  • Knowledge in food, ingredients, knife skills, and cooking techniques
  • Ability to read and follow a recipe
  • Basic math skills used to double or half a recipe
  • Excellent organization and planning skills
  • Strong communication skills including verbal and listening
  • Ability to handle conflict professionally and appropriately
  • Ability to accept constructive review and be accountable for own success and that of the team
  • Integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, self-directed with a demonstrated passion for Harmons' mission
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
  • Ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services the kitchen provides
  • Responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the kitchen
  • Confirms pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad items
  • Ensures the kitchen is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets company standards for appearance
  • Delivers excellent customer service to all customers
  • Prepares all chef-prepared items in the kitchen including salads, entrees, soups, hot case items, etc. following Harmons' recipes
