Job Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED preferred
- Two-year college or technical school degree preferred
- One year of kitchen experience preferred
- Current Food Handler's Permit required
- Ability to handle physical demands such as standing, walking, bending, grasping, pushing, pulling, carrying heavy objects up to 50 pounds
- Must have open availability including Sundays
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in hot, cold, and wet conditions
- Must be able to follow established policies and procedures
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
Job Qualifications

- Ability to use good judgment and to make decisions quickly and independently
- Knowledge in food, ingredients, knife skills, and cooking techniques
- Ability to read and follow a recipe
- Basic math skills used to double or half a recipe
- Excellent organization and planning skills
- Strong communication skills including verbal and listening
- Ability to handle conflict professionally and appropriately
- Ability to accept constructive review and be accountable for own success and that of the team
- Integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, self-directed with a demonstrated passion for Harmons' mission
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
Job Duties
- Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
- Ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services the kitchen provides
- Responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the kitchen
- Confirms pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad items
- Ensures the kitchen is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets company standards for appearance
- Delivers excellent customer service to all customers
- Prepares all chef-prepared items in the kitchen including salads, entrees, soups, hot case items, etc. following Harmons' recipes
