Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • five years food service preparation experience
  • valid driver's license
  • SERV Safe certification
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • ability to stand and work for long periods
  • ability to work in a commercial kitchen environment
  • good communication skills
  • ability to remain calm under stress
  • ability to work with diverse populations

Job Duties

  • Ensure hot, nutritious meals are prepared daily
  • train and supervise kitchen staff
  • maintain kitchen equipment and cleanliness
  • order food and kitchen supplies
  • plan weekly menus and work schedules
  • communicate with Meal Program staff
  • provide food service coverage during scheduled and emergency situations
  • ensure food safety and health regulations compliance
  • greet and support volunteers
  • encourage volunteer engagement
  • manage food deliveries and donations
  • secure building after meal service
  • support fundraising efforts
