Job Requirements
- High school diploma preferred
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination with education
- Must be at least 18 years of age to hold the Lead Cashier position
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Proficient in basic technology such as Point of Sale systems
- Ability to handle customer service situations professionally
- Commitment to following company policies and compliance standards
- Physical capability to perform tasks including standing, twisting, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs, and frequent movement during shift
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred
- 2 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience preferred
- Proven ability to delegate, multi-task, and problem-solve
- Demonstrated knowledge and passion for guest service and competency in selling
- Experience in promptly and professionally addressing guest concerns
- Demonstrated experience in exceeding sales goals and training new hires
- Proficient with basic technology such as Point of Sale systems and Apple devices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Capacity to react under pressure, use good judgment in ambiguous situations, and adapt flexibly
Job Duties
- Contribute to meeting or exceeding the store’s goals related to retail and service sales, omni-channel, guest loyalty including credit, and retail shrink
- Ensure that each guest receives exceptional service by providing a guest-friendly environment including greeting and engaging guests, personalizing service and recommending products or services
- Courteously handle sales, refunds, and exchanges
- Pair guests with associates for makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience
- Book appointments and support execution of services and in-store events to meet sales goals
- Take ownership over cashwrap displays, supplies, and impulse fixtures, maintaining guest-readiness
- Support leadership with register open and close functions, associate exit inspections, and cashier shift introspection
- Maintain attendance and contribute to a positive, inclusive team environment
- Assist in training new cashiers and cross-training other associates
- Share benefits of the guest loyalty program and drive accountability for credit and loyalty goals
- Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards
- Maintain store cleanliness and safety standards
- Protect company assets by minimizing loss through adherence to loss prevention and inventory controls
- Execute other operational tasks as directed
