Job Requirements

  • Must be at least seventeen years of age
  • must have and maintain a valid Class C Driver's License and state-required automobile liability insurance within 90 days of hire
  • must pass a drug test, criminal history background check, and social security number verification
  • must acquire job specific certifications as determined by program
  • must have or obtain Red Cross or American Heart Association Adult CPR, AED and First Aid Certification within designated timeframe
  • must complete City of Denton Cash Handling Training within designated timeframe
  • must be able to work a rotating schedule seven days per week including weekends and holidays
  • must be able to work overtime or outside normal business hours
  • must be able to work designated summer seasonal program schedule
  • must be able to work citywide special events
  • must be available for required position trainings
  • ability to lift up to 20 pounds
  • ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods
  • willingness to work in indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to inclement weather and noise
  • ability to maintain emotional control under stress

Job Qualifications

  • Two years experience in high volume cash handling, customer service, or related field
  • three months of supervisory experience in customer service
  • Red Cross or American Heart Association Adult CPR, AED and First Aid Certification
  • knowledge of applicable Federal and State laws regarding Parks and Recreation
  • skill in problem solving and decision making
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and other software systems
  • ability to provide exceptional service to internal and external customers
  • interpersonal skills including tact, patience, and courtesy
  • basic mathematical and cash handling skills
  • ability to balance cash drawers

Job Duties

  • Supervises assigned staff
  • perform administrative duties at the front desk including providing phone, electronic and face-to-face support to customers
  • book parties and rentals
  • prepare reports
  • reconcile all cashier deposits, count and verify the change fund, and balance cash drawers at the end of each shift
  • respond to and resolve customer issues and requests courteously and professionally
  • notify leadership if unable to resolve concerns
  • complete deposits and perform cash handling responsibilities including opening and closing procedures for guest service staff
  • assist manager with scheduling staff and monitoring facility staff operating costs
  • assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of all admissions areas including entryway, front desk, and admissions office
  • serve as a cashier as needed
  • assist with selection, training, supervising, and evaluating staff
  • recommend assignment changes, retention, discipline, and dismissal
  • perform other duties as assigned
  • follow established safety procedures and promptly report unsafe conditions
  • maintain emotional control under stress and work with frequent interruptions
