Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcohol
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years high-volume bar experience
  • Supervisory or lead bartender experience preferred
  • Safe Server Alcohol and Food Handlers certification required
  • Ability to work varying schedules including extended hours
  • Physical ability to stand for up to four hours and lift up to 45 lbs
  • Effective communication skills
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Competence with basic computer programs
  • Ability to maintain neat and well-groomed appearance per hotel standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Three years of high-volume bar and food service experience
  • At least one year of supervisory or lead bartender experience preferred
  • Micros experience preferred
  • Safe Server Alcohol and Food Handlers certification
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Basic computer skills including Windows OS and MS Office
  • Knowledge of POS and Property Management Systems
  • Knowledge of spirits, beer, wine, and flavor profiles
  • Detail oriented with organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong customer relations and conflict resolution skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare high-quality, freshly crafted cocktails at high volume with proper technique
  • Take beverage and food orders at the bar
  • Describe menu items and suggest products to customers
  • Assist in directing the craft spirit, wine, and beer programs
  • Create craft cocktail menu with emphasis on classical mixology
  • Work with food and beverage director to lower beverage costs by managing par levels and preventing spillage and theft
  • Ensure proper service standards and guest satisfaction
  • Train bartending team on service standards, product knowledge, and technique
  • Ensure proper materials and supplies are available and used correctly
  • Prepare house made spirit infusions and build vendor relationships
  • Train beverage staff on alcohol beverage control protocols and enforce policies
  • Perform cash, credit card, and room transactions accurately
  • Maintain cleanliness standards of the bar
  • Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
  • Provide opening and closing inventory of spirits
  • Ensure all liquor, beer, and wine is put away safely and secured
  • Participate in deep cleaning of the outlet and oversee bar staff safety
  • Assist guests professionally with high-quality customer service
  • Ensure taps, coolers, and appliances are clean and functional
  • Verify customer identification to meet legal drinking age
  • Ensure minors and intoxicated persons are not served
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor
