Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in a bartending or hospitality role preferred
Basic knowledge of alcohol service laws and regulations
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks
Willingness to comply with company attendance policies

Job Qualifications

Hotel experience preferred
Must communicate well with guests
Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages
Basic mathematical skills to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, and understand portion sizes
Sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock
Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items
Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale system to pre-check an order and close out a check
Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons
Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to adapt communication style to different audiences

Job Duties

Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis including requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on daily function projections
Maintain stock, cut, and store all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily ensuring product quality
Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promote and document orders for drinks
Mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes while practicing prudent portion control
Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
Input orders into a register at the point of sale and create checks for each guest to maintain accountability
Receive cash from guests, make change, verify charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed to balance money
Lock and store all beverage, food and other equipment items, deposit cash drops and secure the bank
Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
