Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a bartending or hospitality role preferred
  • Basic knowledge of alcohol service laws and regulations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks
  • Willingness to comply with company attendance policies

Job Qualifications

  • Hotel experience preferred
  • Must communicate well with guests
  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages
  • Basic mathematical skills to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, and understand portion sizes
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock
  • Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items
  • Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale system to pre-check an order and close out a check
  • Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to adapt communication style to different audiences

Job Duties

  • Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis including requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on daily function projections
  • Maintain stock, cut, and store all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily ensuring product quality
  • Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promote and document orders for drinks
  • Mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes while practicing prudent portion control
  • Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
  • Input orders into a register at the point of sale and create checks for each guest to maintain accountability
  • Receive cash from guests, make change, verify charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed to balance money
  • Lock and store all beverage, food and other equipment items, deposit cash drops and secure the bank
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
