Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in food service or retail
  • ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • physical stamina for prolonged standing and lifting
  • willingness to learn and develop barista skills
  • dependable and punctual
  • ability to work collaboratively within a team

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in a barista or cafe role preferred
  • leadership or supervisory experience a plus
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work flexibly including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Maintain reliable and punctual attendance for scheduled shifts
  • fill scheduling gaps when able
  • lead by example with a positive and proactive approach
  • support and assist colleagues consistently
  • provide cheerful and helpful customer service
  • demonstrate and coach mastered drink making and food preparation skills
  • maintain compelling product and merchandising presentations
  • ensure speed and accuracy at registers
  • manage receiving, unpacking, and stocking of deliveries
  • keep the cafe clean through daily and weekly cleaning tasks
  • assist with bookfloor presentation standards
  • enforce loss prevention and safety protocols
  • address and resolve team concerns
  • prioritize resources and support to keep shifts on track
  • place food and beverage orders
  • complete and submit inventory and waste logs
  • coach team on food and beverage recommendations
  • promote cafe sales objectives
  • use cafe training resources to broaden team skills
  • maintain safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards
