Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of food service experience
- One year of barista experience
- Valid King County Food Handler's Permit or the ability to obtain one
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Ability to communicate clearly and inclusively
- Ability to work independently and in a team

- Punctuality and attendance reliability
- Ability to remain calm under pressure

- Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent

- One year of barista experience

- Flexibility to work non-standard schedules including weekends, evenings, and holidays
Job Duties
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and take orders for beverages and food
- Accurately ring in orders on POS system and write on cups or bags
- Prepare foods such as sandwiches or baked items, brewed coffee and tea, espresso-based beverages, and serve items to customers
- Clean and restock work and dining areas, empty trash, and sanitize equipment and utensils
- Learn about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation, and presentation techniques to improve food quality
- Update signage and displays to attract customers
- Take inventory and replenish items in display cases, at tables, or behind the counter
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and quality control
- Act as a liaison between the Café Supervisor and barista staff
- Lead and ensure all barista staff provide excellent customer service and barista craft
- Train newly hired barista staff
- Assist Café Supervisor with inventory management and ordering
- Collaborate with Programs staff regarding student work
- Provide on-the-job barista training and support to students
- Complete daily schedule as assigned and ensure all barista staff follow their schedule and take breaks
- Oversee the Café in the absence of the Café Supervisor
- Perform other duties as assigned
