Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in banquet captain or similar role
  • Ability to stand, walk, and talk or hear regularly
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms and taste or smell
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend and twist regularly

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a banquet captain or similar
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to guide and motivate a team
  • Knowledge of banquet event operations and service standards
  • Excellent guest service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle fast-paced event environments efficiently

Job Duties

  • Reviews event orders prior to service to understand timelines, menus, room setup, and special requirements
  • Ensures event spaces are properly set, stocked, and guest-ready according to standards
  • Monitors the pacing of food and beverage service to ensure alignment with event timeline
  • Communicates with kitchen on course timing, dietary needs, last-minute changes, or issues
  • Coordinates with fellow servers to divide tasks and maintain smooth service transitions
  • Acts as the guest-facing point person for basic event questions or requests during service
  • Identifies and escalates any issues to the manager on duty when necessary
