Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum of 3 years experience in banquet captain or similar role
- Ability to stand, walk, and talk or hear regularly
- Ability to reach with hands and arms and taste or smell
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to bend and twist regularly
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a banquet captain or similar
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to guide and motivate a team
- Knowledge of banquet event operations and service standards
- Excellent guest service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle fast-paced event environments efficiently
Job Duties
- Reviews event orders prior to service to understand timelines, menus, room setup, and special requirements
- Ensures event spaces are properly set, stocked, and guest-ready according to standards
- Monitors the pacing of food and beverage service to ensure alignment with event timeline
- Communicates with kitchen on course timing, dietary needs, last-minute changes, or issues
- Coordinates with fellow servers to divide tasks and maintain smooth service transitions
- Acts as the guest-facing point person for basic event questions or requests during service
- Identifies and escalates any issues to the manager on duty when necessary
