Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Standing/walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
- Ability to perform single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
- Capability for bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching

Job Qualifications
- 14+ months retail experience
- Thorough product, production, and equipment knowledge for bakery items especially scratch bread
- Ability to follow production schedules and recipes
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot bread production issues
- Basic math skills for recipe conversions
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Passion for natural foods and company mission
- Ability to meet customer service expectations
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Basic Microsoft Excel skills
Job Duties
- Mixes, divides, shapes, proofs, and bakes bread and other bakery products to approved Whole Foods Market specifications
- Maintains accurate mix times, temperature logs, and production records
- Develops, adjusts and communicates daily production schedules with other bakers and team
- Ensures consistency of daily production in terms of quantity and quality of finished products
- Routinely assesses production outcomes to ensure Enterprise scratch bread program quality is maintained
- Prepares, packages, weighs, and prices products for sale
- Monitors product quality and freshness and ensures proper product rotation
- Models and delivers outstanding customer service
- Mentors, coaches, and trains other bakers on proper bread and bakery program execution
- Arrives on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
- Works scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings
- Addresses customer needs effectively and models suggestive selling techniques
- Maximizes sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising
- Follows established procedures including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
- Maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
- Performs opening, mid, and closing duties, ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing
- Reports safety hazards and violations immediately
- Utilizes proper production tools and reporting to maximize sales and reduce shrink
- Supports training and onboarding of bakers within home store and other locations
- Performs other duties as assigned by leadership
