Job Requirements

  • Minimum age 18
  • High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent
  • Valid, unexpired, and unsuspended state driver's license
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including days, nights, overnights, holidays, weekends, and rotating days off
  • Flexibility to work additional hours on short notice
  • Ability to carry, bend, lift and turn with bags and other items weighing up to 75 lbs
  • Customer focused and detail oriented
  • Comfortable with computers and ability to learn new programs
  • Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
  • Legal right to work in the United States
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Training and/or curriculum development experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel preferred
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills preferred
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand Spanish preferred in some locations
  • Demonstrated leadership skills preferred
  • Above average attendance preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide efficient, friendly service to all customers
  • Promote and sell air travel with American Eagle, American Airlines and/or contracted carriers
  • Complete arrangements for passengers including preparing itineraries, computing fares, issuing refunds, preparing and issuing tickets, checking baggage, and collecting excess baggage charges
  • Escort passengers safely between terminal and aircraft
  • Manage passenger accommodations related to reservations, stand-bys, luggage, cabin availability, and in-flight supplies
  • Determine flight close-out times and prepare flight forms for accuracy
  • Conduct agent observations and oversee associate activities
  • Administer local training programs, schedule staff, ensure manpower utilization, and maintain safe operations
  • Maintain supplies and inventory control logs
  • Prepare customer correspondence, investigate discrepancies, and compile statistical data
  • Assist management with administrative duties and represent the company as assigned
  • Handle physical tasks such as operating jet-bridges, opening and closing aircraft cabin doors, and managing baggage up to 75 lbs.
