Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in housekeeping or laundry services preferred
- ability to stand for extended periods
- physical ability to lift and move heavy objects
- knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting procedures
- adherence to safety and infection control policies
- effective communication skills
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- flexibility to work Sunday shifts 7am to 3:30pm
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior housekeeping or laundry experience in healthcare or skilled nursing facilities preferred
- ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols
- knowledge of cleaning chemicals and proper handling
- ability to operate laundry equipment and tools
- physical ability to lift and move objects over 30 pounds
- attention to detail and commitment to maintaining sanitary conditions
- excellent interpersonal skills to interact respectfully with residents and staff
Job Duties
- perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned
- perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments
- empty and sanitize ash trays daily
- clean and polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, and room heating/cooling units daily as instructed
- clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures
- clean windows and mirrors in resident rooms and common areas
- sweep, dust, mop, strip, wax, buff, and disinfect floors
- vacuum, shampoo, deodorize, and disinfect carpets
- clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizing
- remove dirt, dust, grease, and film from equipment or floor surfaces using proper solutions
- discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacles with plastic liners
- clean vacant rooms as assigned
- ensure work/assignment areas are clean and equipment properly stored
- perform isolation cleaning procedures and dispose of infectious waste appropriately
- collect, sort, weigh, wash, press, fold, stack, hang, and distribute laundry and linens
- transport laundry including pushing carts that may exceed 30 pounds
- follow fire safety and safety equipment protocols
- respect residents’ rights including privacy and property
- file complaints/grievances with supervisors
- adhere to all applicable federal and state regulations
- perform other duties as assigned
