Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in housekeeping or related field preferred
- ability to stand for extended periods up to 8 hours
- capability to lift and move objects exceeding 30 pounds
- adherence to facility policies and regulatory compliance
- willingness to work Sunday to Sunday shift from 7 am to 3:30 pm
- ability to use personal protective equipment correctly
- commitment to residents’ rights and privacy
- physical stamina for demanding cleaning and laundry tasks
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous experience in housekeeping or laundry services preferred
- knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- understanding of sanitation and infection control procedures
- ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- physical capability to handle and lift heavy objects up to 30 pounds or more
- strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- basic knowledge of safety policies and procedures
Job Duties
- Adheres to and assures compliance with code of conduct and facility policies
- files complaints or grievances with the supervisor
- follows established fire safety policies and procedures
- wears and/or uses safety equipment and supplies when lifting or moving heavy objects
- keeps work/assignment areas free of hazardous objects and unnecessary equipment
- follows proper techniques when mixing chemicals and disinfectants
- uses appropriate personal protective equipment when handling infectious materials
- disposes of refuse daily following sanitation procedures
- ensures the laundry department is maintained safely and sanitarily
- ensures adequate supply of laundry and linen in closets
- cleans and stores equipment properly at the end of shifts
- collects, sorts, and weighs soiled laundry and handles items potentially over 30 pounds
- sorts laundry requiring special stain removal
- washes, presses, folds, counts, stacks, hangs, and distributes laundry and garments daily
- transports laundry including pushing heavy carts
- cleans floors by sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping with safety signs in place
- cleans walls, ceilings, and surfaces using proper cleaning solutions
- discards waste and relines trash receptacles
- ensures residents’ rights to privacy and dignity
- knocks before entering rooms
- performs housekeeping functions according to daily assignments
- empties and sanitizes ashtrays
- cleans and polishes resident rooms and fixtures
- cleans windows and mirrors
- cleans carpets and hallways
- discards infectious wastes
- performs isolation cleaning procedures
- assists during emergency conditions
- performs day-to-day laundry functions
- ensures equipment and supplies are properly stored
- performs other duties as assigned
