Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in housekeeping or laundry preferred
- physical ability to lift objects over 30 pounds
- ability to stand for up to 8 hours
- adherence to facility policies and safety protocols
- ability to use personal protective equipment appropriately
- willingness to follow infection control procedures
- reliable and punctual
- good communication skills
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior housekeeping or laundry experience in a healthcare or skilled nursing facility preferred
- ability to follow detailed instructions and comply with facility policies and regulatory standards
- knowledge of health and safety standards including infection control
- ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and staff
- physical ability to lift and move heavy objects safely
- ability to stand for extended periods
- attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate respect for resident rights
Job Duties
- Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned
- perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments
- empty and sanitize ash trays daily
- clean and polish furnishings, fixtures, and room heating/cooling units daily as instructed
- clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures ensuring water marks are removed
- clean windows and mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrances/exits
- clean floors including sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and disinfecting
- clean carpets including vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting
- clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizing
- remove dirt, dust, grease, and film from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions
- discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacles
- perform isolation cleaning procedures per infection control guidelines
- collect, sort, and weigh soiled laundry and place in containers or designated areas
- sort laundry items requiring special stain removal/treatment
- wash, press, fold, count, stack, hang, and distribute laundry items to residents
- transport laundry items pushing carts potentially exceeding 30 pounds
- keep work areas and equipment clean and properly stored
- ensure compliance with safety policies and wear personal protective equipment as required
- maintain an equitable treatment environment respecting resident rights
- file complaints/grievances with supervisors as necessary
- perform other duties as assigned
