Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy laundry loads of 50-100 pounds
  • Willingness to adhere to safety and hygiene standards
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members
  • Commitment to providing compassionate senior care

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and written communication effectively for daily documentation, work orders, supplies, and cleaning
  • Commercial laundry experience is desirable, but not required
  • Ability to process 50-100 pounds of laundry at a time

Job Duties

  • Collects, cleans and redistributes the community laundry and resident personal clothing in the healthcare center
  • Weighs all soiled linen and records it in the log sheet
  • Ensures that all healthcare center laundry is properly sorted, washed and dried according to state and federal regulations
  • Ensures that the laundry is maintained in a clean, orderly and sanitary condition
  • Inspects linens for wear and tear and follows standard operating procedures for damaged linens
  • Maintains all equipment and supplies in proper condition
  • Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by the supervisor
  • Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned
  • Practices safety procedures at all times, utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Communicates effectively using approved radio equipment
