Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy laundry loads of 50-100 pounds
- Willingness to adhere to safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members
- Commitment to providing compassionate senior care
Job Qualifications
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and written communication effectively for daily documentation, work orders, supplies, and cleaning
- Commercial laundry experience is desirable, but not required
- Ability to process 50-100 pounds of laundry at a time
Job Duties
- Collects, cleans and redistributes the community laundry and resident personal clothing in the healthcare center
- Weighs all soiled linen and records it in the log sheet
- Ensures that all healthcare center laundry is properly sorted, washed and dried according to state and federal regulations
- Ensures that the laundry is maintained in a clean, orderly and sanitary condition
- Inspects linens for wear and tear and follows standard operating procedures for damaged linens
- Maintains all equipment and supplies in proper condition
- Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by the supervisor
- Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned
- Practices safety procedures at all times, utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Communicates effectively using approved radio equipment
