- laundry worker experience in a hotel or other high-volume location is beneficial but not required
Job Duties
- operate and tend the machines including washing and drying articles such as sheets draperies linens and carpets ensuring the correct volume of detergent water bleach starch and other additives are used as needed
- sort count and put away articles removed from dryers maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the laundry closet
- inspect soiled articles to determine sources of stains locate color imperfections and to identify items requiring special treatment
- iron or press articles fabrics banquet linens napkins spa linen using hand irons or pressing machines
- record all loads washed and dried to calculate productivity including loss of linens due to stains tears and wear
