Job Description

Citizens Memorial Healthcare Foundation (CMH) is a comprehensive healthcare system made up of 34 primary and specialty clinics, six long-term care facilities, and a residential care facility. CMH offers a wide range of healthcare services including acute care, emergency services, ambulatory care, pharmacies, walk-in clinics, surgeries, addiction recovery, and various therapies. The foundation is dedicated to meeting the diverse health needs of its community, ensuring accessible and high-quality care with a patient-centered approach. CMH’s expansive network allows it to provide continuous and coordinated care across the lifespan of its patients, from routine check-ups to specialized treatment plans.

Colonial Springs Healthcare Center, a part of the CMH network, is situated in the charming town of Buffalo, Missouri. Buffalo is known for its inviting small-town atmosphere combined with rich outdoor recreational opportunities such as hiking, camping, fishing, and canoeing. The community prides itself on a strong school system along with vocational training opportunities provided by the Dallas County Technical Institute. This makes it an excellent place for healthcare employees who seek a balanced lifestyle with ample community and family-friendly activities.

Colonial Springs Healthcare Center itself is a 134-bed skilled nursing and long-term care facility, which includes a 34-bed memory care unit and a specialized 16-bed high-functioning memory care unit. These dedicated units cater to the unique needs of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, offering tailored care that supports their quality of life and safety.

The Laundry Worker position at Colonial Springs Healthcare Center is essential to maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of the facility’s environment. This role is responsible for handling and processing linens and personal clothing for residents, ensuring that all items are clean, neatly folded, and delivered appropriately. The position operates largely in support of patient care, helping to maintain hygiene standards vital in healthcare settings.

A typical day for the Laundry Worker involves various tasks: starting with filling dryers early in the morning, sorting laundry from different utility rooms, and bringing the first load of clean laundry to residents. The worker also distributes personal clothing to residents and folds linens and clothing throughout the day. Maintenance duties include operating and cleaning dryer lint traps and stocking linen supplies across multiple areas and carts. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a focus on supporting the well-being of residents.

Employment for this role is Per Requested Need on day shifts. Candidates receive competitive wages with additional benefits such as annual merit increases and early access to pay through the PayActiv program. Furthermore, the position offers an employee assistance program, employee discounts, and an inclusive, welcoming workplace culture where employees are encouraged to connect and grow within the CMH family. This role does not require prior experience as training is provided and candidates must obtain Family and Friends CPR certification within six months of employment. Physical requirements include the ability to stand for 90 percent of the day and sit for the remaining 10 percent.

This position represents an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in supporting healthcare operations and making a difference in a community-focused healthcare environment. The Laundry Worker plays a vital role in the day-to-day functioning of Colonial Springs Healthcare Center, directly contributing to the comfort and hygiene of its residents. Those who join CMH become part of a dynamic team that values compassion, dedication, and service excellence. If you are committed to providing quality care through your role and enjoy contributing to a positive workplace, this position could be ideal for you.
