Job Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Subject to background and suitability investigations
  • May require designated or random drug testing
  • Selective Service registration required for males born after December 31, 1959
  • Complete application package including resume and supporting documents required
  • Must complete an online onboarding process
  • Must comply with REAL ID requirements effective May 7, 2025
  • Must serve a one-year probationary period
  • Ability to perform manual labor including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and shifts based on service needs

Job Qualifications

  • Evidence of training or experience demonstrating ability to perform the duties
  • Ability to follow directions accurately
  • Skill in inspecting linens and linen rooms
  • Physical strength and agility to lift and maneuver heavy materials
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Capability to work as a member of a team
  • Experience with record keeping and inventory management preferable

Job Duties

  • Assists in maintaining records for laundry linen distribution including totaling daily weight sheets and cart weights
  • Receives and processes linen request orders from Community Based Outpatient Clinics
  • Prepares linen orders by inspecting, folding, and stocking to specified quantities for delivery
  • Inspects ward linen rooms for abuse, cleanliness, stockpiling and quota accuracy
  • Advises supervisor on deficiencies or abnormalities in linen rooms
  • Delivers linen to multiple departments within the medical center
  • Collects soiled linens ensuring separation from clean linens
  • Assists in semi-annual and annual linen inventory counts
  • Practices safe work habits and maintains orderly and organized work areas
  • Delivers linen outside scheduled times due to shortages or unforeseen circumstances
