Job Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship
  • suitable for federal employment as determined by background investigation
  • selective service registration required for males born after 12/31/1959
  • completion of online onboarding and pre-employment requirements
  • commitment to a 1-year probationary period
  • adherence to influenza vaccination or exemption requirements
  • ability to meet all qualifications by closing date of announcement

Job Duties

  • Rotates through a variety of work sites in the textile care processing facility throughout tour of duty to meet workload processing or production standards
  • assists in unloading soiled linen bags from truck and dumping onto conveyor system
  • sorts soiled linen items according to classification procedures
  • operates small piece folders and flatwork ironers
  • shakes out wet linen articles and checks for knots, damage, and stains
  • feeds damp linen into flatwork ironers by spreading feeding devices or hand feeding
  • cleans and waxes flatwork ironers and replaces ribbons
  • receives items at receiving end of ironer
  • feeds garments through garment finish steam tunnels
  • folds rough dry items by hand
  • loads clean textiles into bulk carts
  • prepares clean textiles for shipment
  • weighs and records soiled and clean textiles
  • maintains a clean and safe work environment
  • performs duties in a safe and efficient manner
  • performs other duties as assigned
