Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in laundry operations, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting
  • Knowledge of different fabrics, laundering techniques, and proper garment care
  • Attention to detail and the ability to identify stains, damage, or quality issues
  • Basic understanding of laundry equipment and machinery
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Physical fitness to handle repetitive tasks and lift heavy laundry bags
  • Commitment to hygiene and cleanliness standards
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, and press linens, towels, bed sheets, and other hotel laundry items according to established procedures
  • Handle laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, ironing machines, and folding tables, ensuring proper operation and maintenance
  • Inspect laundered items to ensure they meet quality standards, addressing stains, tears, or other issues as needed
  • Follow specific instructions for handling delicate fabrics or special items to prevent damage
  • Maintain an organized inventory of clean and ready-to-use linens and towels to meet the demands of guest rooms, dining areas, and other hotel departments
  • Keep track of linen counts, reorder levels, and replenishment schedules
  • Clean and maintain laundry equipment, ensuring proper functioning and reporting any maintenance issues to the appropriate department
  • Follow safety protocols when operating laundry machinery
  • Coordinate with housekeepers, Housekeeping Housepersons, and other hotel departments to ensure a steady supply of clean linens and towels for guest rooms, restaurants, and event spaces
