Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in laundry operations, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting
  • knowledge of different fabrics, laundering techniques, and proper garment care
  • attention to detail and the ability to identify stains, damage, or quality issues
  • basic understanding of laundry equipment and machinery
  • physical fitness to handle repetitive tasks and lift heavy laundry bags
  • willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, and press linens, towels, bed sheets, and other hotel laundry items according to established procedures
  • handle laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, ironing machines, and folding tables, ensuring proper operation and maintenance
  • inspect laundered items to ensure they meet quality standards, addressing stains, tears, or other issues as needed
  • follow specific instructions for handling delicate fabrics or special items to prevent damage
  • maintain an organized inventory of clean and ready-to-use linens and towels to meet the demands of guest rooms, dining areas, and other hotel departments
  • keep track of linen counts, reorder levels, and replenishment schedules
  • clean and maintain laundry equipment, ensuring proper functioning and reporting any maintenance issues to the appropriate department
  • follow safety protocols when operating laundry machinery
  • coordinate with housekeepers, Housekeeping Housepersons, and other hotel departments to ensure a steady supply of clean linens and towels for guest rooms, restaurants, and event spaces
