Job Requirements

  • High school or equivalent education
  • ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to four hours
  • ability to lift up to 45 pounds
  • ability to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 pounds
  • good communication skills
  • ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary workplace language
  • attendance regularity per company standards
  • adherence to grooming and uniform standards
  • knowledge of safety procedures and equipment operation
  • able to work in moderate, controlled indoor environment
  • ability to perform repetitive motions and physically demanding tasks

Job Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent education
  • previous experience in laundry department preferred
  • experience using industrial washing, drying, and ironing equipment preferred
  • good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • excellent customer relations skills
  • detail oriented with outstanding organizational and communication skills
  • basic computer skills
  • basic computational ability
  • ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers requiring patience, tact, and diplomacy
  • self-driven and able to work independently
  • knowledgeable of safe use of cleaning products and operation of laundry equipment

Job Duties

  • Inspect linens to remove ripped or soiled items
  • wash and dry all dirty linens, towels, and rags as directed by management
  • clean dryer filter daily and maintain all equipment as trained
  • operate iron as per hotel standards
  • fold linens/towels and stock linen carts as required
  • sweep and mop laundry floors storing all linens off the floor
  • sort dried articles according to identification number or type and place items in appropriate storage bins
  • execute all work processes safely
  • clean and maintain equipment and machinery
  • mend torn articles as needed
  • deliver and stock terry and linen in linen closets, housekeeping carts, Fitness Center, and Pool
  • ensure work areas are left clean and organized
  • assist housekeeping in cleaning guest rooms and public areas as needed
  • perform all other duties assigned by managers and supervisors
