Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds required
  • frequent bending while loading/unloading washers/dryers, sorting linen and folding
  • continuous movement throughout department
  • standing is required during the entire shift
  • frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and smiling
  • adherence to safety and security procedures and rules
  • knowledge of department fire prevention and emergency procedures
  • ability to use protective equipment safely

Job Qualifications

  • Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skill, and ability
  • no previous experience required

Job Duties

  • Sort all stained/damaged items and determine status for rewash or discard
  • maintain continuous inventory of discarded items
  • operate ironing and folder machines according to specifications
  • process cleaned articles through machines
  • fold cleaned articles and stack into designated amounts by type and size
  • place stacks in specified areas of distribution
  • remove lint and debris from dryer filters as specified
  • use cleaning chemicals according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements
  • check the working condition and cleanliness of laundry machinery
  • monitor usage of chemicals and water to maximize consumption
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas throughout shift
  • restock work areas for next shift as assigned
  • turn in all lost and found items and all guest room keys
  • adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • follow safety and security procedures and rules
  • know department fire prevention and emergency procedures
  • utilize protective equipment
  • report unsafe conditions to management
  • report accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to management
  • provide for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules
  • maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance as outlined in team member handbook
  • perform any related duties as requested by supervisor/manager
  • assist other housekeeping personnel when needed
