Job Requirements

  • Detail oriented individual with previous housekeeping experience preferred but not required
  • Physically capable, dependable, and prepared to actively engage in hands-on work, including bending, twisting, stretching, repetitive motion, pushing, pulling, and safely lifting or moving up to 25 pounds in support of daily operations
  • Eager to learn and grow, with the ability to quickly absorb on-the-job training and apply new skills effectively to meet and exceed performance expectations
  • Availability to work Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00am to 4:30pm
  • Ability to follow community policies and infection control protocols
  • Commitment to upholding a compassionate and respectful environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous housekeeping or laundry experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities

Job Duties

  • Follows community’s policies and procedures for handling, storing, processing, and transporting linen and residents’ personal laundry
  • Complies with infection control requirements of the laundry and uses appropriate personal protective equipment and supplies, as necessary
  • Establishes and adheres to laundry schedule to ensure adequate supply of clean laundry is available in all required areas
  • Assigns schedules/duties for laundry team members as appropriate
  • Sorts and loads laundry as designated
  • Washes linen, clothing and other items and records weights for each load
  • Irons linen and clothing
  • Reads labels on personal laundry prior to washing
  • Reports any damaged or lost clothing articles to the supervisor
  • Arranges for repairs and/or replacements, as necessary
  • Ensures residents’ garments are properly labeled and labels items, as appropriate
  • Follows all written infection control procedures established by the community and performs other related duties as assigned
