Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous housekeeping or laundry experience preferred but not required
- Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines
- Physical capability to perform hands-on work including bending, twisting, stretching, repetitive motion, pushing, pulling, and lifting or moving up to 25 pounds
- Dependable and punctual
- Eager to learn and apply new skills
- Ability to work the scheduled shift from Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous housekeeping or laundry experience preferred but not required
- Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines
- Detail oriented with good organizational skills
- Physical capability to perform tasks including bending, twisting, stretching, repetitive motion, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 25 pounds
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Willingness to learn and grow in the role
Job Duties
- Follows community's policies and procedures for handling, storing, processing, and transporting linen and residents' personal laundry
- Complies with infection control requirements of the laundry and uses appropriate personal protective equipment and supplies, as necessary
- Establishes and adheres to laundry schedule to ensure adequate supply of clean laundry is available in all required areas
- Assigns schedules/duties for laundry team members as appropriate
- Sorts and loads laundry as designated
- Washes linen, clothing and other items and records weights for each load
- Irons linen and clothing
- Reads labels on personal laundry prior to washing
- Reports any damaged or lost clothing articles to the supervisor
- Arranges for repairs and/or replacements, as necessary
- Ensures residents' garments are properly labeled and labels items, as appropriate
- Follows all written infection control procedures established by the community and performs other related duties as assigned
