The Laundry Attendant (LA) role within Sonesta International Hotels is an integral part of the Housekeeping Management team, specifically focused on operating within the commercial laundry facility. This role is critical to meeting the hotel’s laundry and linen needs by ensuring clean, well-organized, and timely linen processing and storage. The LA is responsible for efficient handling of soiled linens, sorting by type, color, and soil level, and operating industrial washers and dryers according to hotel standards and manufacturers’ instructions. Quality control is a key part of the position, with the attendant inspecting all laundry and linens for damage or stains and reporting issues as necessary.

Beyond laundry duties, the attendant is also involved in cleaning guest rooms and public spaces, adhering to time management and product placement standards to guarantee total guest satisfaction. This includes making beds, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing bathrooms, and managing trash removal. The role may extend to cleaning kitchen areas, room appliances, and handling lost and found items with care and according to established procedures.

The Laundry Attendant at Sonesta is expected to foster teamwork and maintain high-quality service through regular communication and coordination across shifts and with departmental management. Compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety regulations is mandatory, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for guests and staff. In addition to routine tasks, the LA may participate in deep cleaning projects. The role also involves the physical demands of standing, bending, lifting items weighing up to 75 pounds, and using commercial cleaning chemicals, highlighting the need for stamina and care in daily duties.
