Job Requirements

- prior laundry or housekeeping or related experience preferred

Job Qualifications

- ability to operate and care for commercial laundry equipment safely

Job Duties
- Collect and sort soiled linens from chutes and bins
- load and unload commercial washers and dryers selecting proper cycles, times, temperatures, and chemicals based on fabrics and SOPs
- inspect cleanliness of washed, dried, or dry-cleaned articles and place them in clean linen carts
- identify stained or damaged items and determine status for repair, spot treatment, rewash, or discard
- remove lint and debris from dryer screens, dry cleaning filters, and drain traps after each load
- fold, press, and finish cleaned articles into designated sizes by hand or machine and operate flatwork ironers/steamers as needed
- maintain accurate records of laundered items and track par levels and inventory of linens
- restock folded linens in designated storage areas following FIFO rotation
- complete special requests such as banquet/event linens, express items, and guest laundry
- identify and implement new ways to increase efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, or cost-savings
- report equipment issues, maintenance needs, shortages, or quality concerns promptly
- keep laundry room and surrounding areas clean, organized, and hazard-free
- ensure compliance with quality assurance standards
- follow all property SOPs, brand standards, safety, sanitation, handling, and security policies
- handle chemicals safely
- report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management
- maintain professional uniform and appearance
- communicate professionally and listen to concerns of coworkers
- develop and maintain positive working relationships
- perform other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisors
- welcome and acknowledge guests according to property standards
- aid guests in locating hotel areas and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette
- thank guests sincerely
- familiarize with parking validation procedures
- maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets
