Job Description
This job opening is for the position of Laundry Attendant, reporting directly to the Executive Housekeeper or the General Manager, in an establishment that requires diligent maintenance of linen and terry goods. The role involves comprehensive laundering duties designed to ensure the cleanliness and presentation of all textiles used in guest rooms and food and beverage facilities within the hospitality environment.

Job Requirements
- Less than high school education
- Up to one month related experience or training or equivalent combination
- Ability to read limited two- and three-syllable words
- Ability to print and speak simple sentences
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with tens and hundreds
- Ability to use American money, weight, volume, and distance units
- Ability to carry out detailed oral or written instructions
- Ability to deal with standard problems involving concrete variables
- Regularly stand, walk, use hands
- Frequent reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling
- Talk or hear frequently
- Lift or move up to 10 pounds regularly
- Lift or move up to 25 pounds frequently
- Lift or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
Job Qualifications
- Less than high school education
- Ability to read simple words and speak simple sentences
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations
- Ability to follow detailed but routine instructions
- Ability to handle physical demands of job
- Good team attitude and customer service skills
Job Duties
- Inspects all linen/terry prior to loading washer and separate any stained linen for soaking
- Strips linen from guest rooms
- Monitors automatic soap dispensing machines to ensure proper chemical amount
- Loads articles into washer ensuring proper amount is loaded
- Starts machine to wash and rinse articles
- Lifts clean, wet articles from washer and places them into dryers
- Sorts dried articles by type, folds and stores them
- Sorts and counts articles to verify quantities
- Soaks contaminated articles in neutralizer solution
- Mixes dyes and bleaches according to formula and treats specific articles
- Cleans dryer lint filters at least once daily
- Reports maintenance problems promptly
- Uses supplies carefully and efficiently
- Wears proper uniform including nametag at all times
- Keeps laundry area clean and neat
- Empowers self to resolve customer problems
- Maintains storerooms clean, neat, and organized
- Assists co-workers when needed with team attitude
