Job Requirements
- must successfully complete all atria specified training programs
- able to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers
- able to add and subtract two digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10s and 100s
- able to perform these operations with units of united states currency, weight, volume and distance
- able to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions
- able to deal with standardized situations with occasional or no variables
- able to work various shifts and schedules as needed
- able to safely perform duties using related commercial laundry equipment and materials such as washers, dryers, irons
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior experience in commercial laundry or similar environment helpful
- ability to read and understand basic instructions
- basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- capable of safely operating commercial laundry machines
- attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols
- good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Job Duties
- performs laundry duties including washing, drying, and ironing resident laundry and community linens in provided appliances
- folds and/or hangs laundry appropriately
- distributes laundered articles and linens
- replaces and hangs draperies
- changes beds
- mops laundry room floor and washes walls regularly
- washes windows around the community as requested
- ensures resident’s laundry is kept separated and not mixed with other residents
- keeps laundry area maintained in a safe, clean and good working condition
- disinfects and sterilizes equipment and supplies
- stocks laundry and cleaning cart with supplies
- empties wastebaskets and transports trash and waste to disposal area
- may perform other duties as assigned
