Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds
  • frequent bending while loading and unloading washers and dryers
  • sorting linen and folding
  • continuous movement throughout department
  • standing is required during entire shift
  • frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and smiling

Job Duties

  • Sort stained or damaged items and determine rewash or discard
  • operate ironing and folding machines according to specifications
  • fold cleaned articles and stack by type and size
  • remove lint and debris from dryer filters
  • use cleaning chemicals according to OSHA regulations
  • check working condition and cleanliness of laundry machinery
  • monitor usage of chemicals and water to maximize consumption
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
  • restock work areas for next shift as assigned
  • turn in lost and found items and guest room keys
  • adhere to company policies and procedures
  • follow safety and security procedures
  • know department fire prevention and emergency procedures
  • utilize protective equipment
  • report unsafe conditions to management
  • report accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to management
  • provide a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures
  • maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
  • perform related duties as requested by supervisor or manager
  • assist other housekeeping personnel when needed
