Job Duties
- stand walk and remain on feet throughout shift while working quickly and quietly
- lift push and pull up to 50 pounds
- retrieve linens from laundry carts and hotel corridors including the pool area
- start and monitor washer and dryer operations
- separate linens prior to washing
- choose correct washing cycles for each load
- inspect linens for stains before drying
- clean and maintain laundry equipment and linens
- ensure proper operation of laundry machinery
- pre-soak scrub and spot clean stained items
- sort articles based on color fabric and dirt content
- fold wrap or hang items for airing or delivery
- discard worn or stained linens and log appropriately
- distribute clean linens ensuring housekeeping closets are stocked
- maintain cleanliness and organization of laundry and linen storage areas
- assist housekeeping staff when necessary
- perform other assigned duties
