Job Duties
- Sort soiled linens, towels, and uniforms by color, fabric type, and level of soiling
- wash, dry, and fold items according to hotel procedures and care instructions
- operate industrial washing machines, dryers, and pressing equipment safely and efficiently
- monitor equipment for proper functioning and report any malfunctions or repairs needed
- check for stains, tears, or damage on linens and garments
- treat stains and perform minor repairs such as sewing small tears or replacing buttons
- restock clean linens and towels in storage areas or deliver them to housekeeping or other departments as needed
- keep an accurate inventory of linens to ensure adequate supply levels
- clean and organize the laundry room to maintain hygiene and operational efficiency
- dispose of trash, lint, and other waste materials properly
- follow health and safety regulations, including proper handling of chemicals and equipment
- ensure compliance with hotel and brand quality standards for laundered items
- assist housekeeping staff with additional laundry-related tasks such as collecting used linens from guest rooms
- prioritize tasks to ensure laundry is cleaned and delivered in a timely manner, especially during peak times
