Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in laundry or housekeeping preferred but not required
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Must be physically capable of performing duties including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Ability to follow instructions and work under limited supervision
- Good communication skills
- Must adhere to hotel uniform and grooming standards
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance if driving duties apply
- Willingness to comply with all safety and operational procedures
Job Qualifications
- Must be physically fit and have the ability to bend, stoop and lift 10 pounds or more depending on duty or as needed
- Must have the ability to work independently with little supervision
- Must have the ability to work with industrial laundry equipment, cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals
Job Duties
- Sort, wash, dry, and fold all linen and terry
- Pull out of circulation stained linen and terry and set aside for extra treatment
- Keep all equipment clean and report any maintenance issues to supervisor
- Keep laundry room and linen/terry storage rooms stocked, clean, and organized
- Keep all laundry and cleaning supplies stocked and stored properly
- Assist housekeepers in stripping rooms of dirty linen and terry and help stock housekeeping carts
- Be knowledgeable about daily hotel operations and stay up-to-date with new procedures and events
- Be flexible in regard to work schedule
- Report to work on time and in proper and clean uniform, including name tag
- Carry out all reasonable requests by management
- Handle all duties according to hotel policies, procedures, internal rules and standards
- Have knowledge about guest rooms, locations, amenities, features and all other services offered by the hotel
- Have knowledge about all emergency procedures and know how to act on them
- Be aware of current guest service scores and understand guest comments and needs, actively participate in achieving GSS goals
- Report any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager
- Assist fellow associates in their jobs to improve daily operations
- Pick up room keys to assigned areas daily, sign keys out and in at shift start and end
- Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and pass as approved driver if applicable
- Perform all other duties as assigned
