Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively
- Ability to process 50-100 pounds of laundry at a time
- Moderate to heavy physical effort required including repetitive folding and strenuous pulling
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs independently
- Ability to push or pull wheeled carts and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs over varied surfaces
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and stoop for 90% of the workday
- May be exposed to communicable diseases and unpleasant odors
- Ability to work part-time flexible day schedule
- Compliance with pre-employment screening including history and physical exam, tuberculosis test, drug screen, criminal background check, and employment verification
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English
- Effective communication skills
- Desirable but not required commercial laundry experience
- Ability to process 50-100 pounds of laundry at a time
Job Duties
- Collects, cleans, and redistributes the community and residents' personal laundry and flat linens
- Ensures laundry is properly sorted, washed, and dried according to state and federal regulations
- Maintains laundry area in clean, orderly, and sanitary condition
- Makes beds as needed in the morning, turns them down in the evening, and changes bed linens weekly or as needed
- Maintains all laundry equipment and supplies in proper condition
- Accomplishes work based on supervisor priorities
- Attends in-service training and educational sessions
- Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisor
