Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to process 50-100 pounds of laundry at a time
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs independently
  • Must be able to push and/or pull wheeled carts and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and stoop for 90 percent of the workday
  • Exposure to communicable diseases is possible
  • Must adhere to infection control and safety standards
  • Ability to attend in-service training and education sessions as required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to process 50-100 pounds of laundry at a time
  • Commercial laundry experience is desirable but not required

Job Duties

  • Collects, cleans, and redistributes the community and residents' personal laundry and flat linens
  • Ensures that laundry is properly sorted, washed, and dried according to state and federal regulations
  • Ensures that the laundry is maintained in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition
  • Makes beds as needed in the morning, turns down beds in the evening, and changes bed linens weekly or as needed
  • Maintains all equipment and supplies in proper condition
  • Accomplishes work in the priority order set by the supervisor
  • Attends in-service training and education sessions and performs additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
