Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to process 50-100 pounds of laundry at a time
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs independently
- Must be able to push and/or pull wheeled carts and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and stoop for 90 percent of the workday
- Exposure to communicable diseases is possible
- Must adhere to infection control and safety standards
- Ability to attend in-service training and education sessions as required
Job Qualifications

- Effective communication skills
- Ability to process 50-100 pounds of laundry at a time
- Commercial laundry experience is desirable but not required
Job Duties
- Collects, cleans, and redistributes the community and residents' personal laundry and flat linens
- Ensures that laundry is properly sorted, washed, and dried according to state and federal regulations
- Ensures that the laundry is maintained in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition
- Makes beds as needed in the morning, turns down beds in the evening, and changes bed linens weekly or as needed
- Maintains all equipment and supplies in proper condition
- Accomplishes work in the priority order set by the supervisor
- Attends in-service training and education sessions and performs additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
