Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively
- Ability to lift carry up to 30 pounds independently
- Ability to push and/or pull wheeled carts and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds
- Capacity to stand walk bend reach and stoop 90 percent of workday
- Exposure to communicable diseases from contaminated linens possible
- Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical effort including repetitive folding and strenuous pulling movements 80 percent of the time
- Available for part-time flexible daytime hours
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively
- Commercial laundry experience is desirable but not required
- Ability to process 50-100 pounds of laundry at a time
Job Duties
- Collects cleans and redistributes community and residents' personal laundry and flat linens
- Ensures laundry is properly sorted washed and dried according to state and federal regulations
- Maintains laundry area in a clean orderly and sanitary condition
- Makes beds as needed in morning turns down beds in evening and changes bed linens weekly or as needed
- Maintains all equipment and supplies in proper condition
- Follows supervisor's priority to accomplish work tasks
- Attends in-service training and performs assigned duties as directed by supervisor
