Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work varied 8-hour shifts including weekends
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift moderate weight
- Must be able to communicate effectively
- Must follow established policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- Prior laundry experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
- Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- Effective communication skills both verbally and by phone
- Commitment to adhering to policies, procedures and professional standards
Job Duties
- Collects and sorts soiled linens from various locations into compatible washing types in preparation for washing
- Loads washers with soiled linens, selecting the proper wash formula for the items loaded in the washer
- Performs finish work on linens and clothing including unloading washers, loading dryers, folding linens and distributing linens to storage areas throughout the facility
- Places resident clothing in the correct closets and drawers
- Responds to questions and requests from patients, staff and visitors
- Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements
- Provides excellent service by demonstrating core and leader behaviors each day
