Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work varied 8-hour shifts including weekends
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift moderate weight
  • Must be able to communicate effectively
  • Must follow established policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Prior laundry experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
  • Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and by phone
  • Commitment to adhering to policies, procedures and professional standards

Job Duties

  • Collects and sorts soiled linens from various locations into compatible washing types in preparation for washing
  • Loads washers with soiled linens, selecting the proper wash formula for the items loaded in the washer
  • Performs finish work on linens and clothing including unloading washers, loading dryers, folding linens and distributing linens to storage areas throughout the facility
  • Places resident clothing in the correct closets and drawers
  • Responds to questions and requests from patients, staff and visitors
  • Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements
  • Provides excellent service by demonstrating core and leader behaviors each day
