Job Duties
- follow a regular schedule of laundry requirements
- follow an uninterrupted work schedule when supervisor is not available
- mark unmarked clothing with appropriate resident name before washing
- wash personal clothing of residents on request
- handle linen services for other facility departments
- coordinate daily laundry services with nursing when performing routine laundry in resident areas
- assure adequate supply of laundry/linen supplies
- keep accurate records of linen inventory
- pick up soiled clothing from designated areas
- operate washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment
- fold, stack, hang, and deliver laundry and linen
- assist in maintaining laundry department cleanliness and safety
- attend in-service education programs
- be familiar with standard precautions and safety procedures
- maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information
- protect residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse
- protect personal property of residents
- perform other duties as directed by supervisor or administrator
