Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in laundry or housekeeping preferred
- Ability to lift and move at least 25 pounds
- Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting procedures
- Ability to follow safety guidelines and use of protective gear
- Good physical stamina for repetitive tasks
- Ability to work full time
- Reliable and punctual
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of resident information
Job Qualifications
- Ability to maintain care and use of supplies and equipment
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and safety of laundry areas
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions for cleaning compound mixtures
- Physically capable of pushing, pulling, lifting a minimum of 25 pounds to a height of 5 feet
- Able to carry or move weights a minimum distance of 50 feet
- Understanding of safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment
- Basic knowledge of infection control practices
- Good communication skills for reporting incidents and coordinating with staff
Job Duties
- Perform day-to-day laundry activities in compliance with regulations
- Follow established cleaning and work schedules
- Coordinate laundry services with nursing during resident care
- Follow fire safety policies and use safety equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of assigned work areas
- Report accidents and incidents to supervisors
- Mix chemicals and disinfectants properly according to MSDS guidelines
- Use personal protective equipment when handling infectious materials
- Keep supervisor informed of supply needs
- Maintain work areas free of hazards such as spills and excess equipment
- Clean and store laundry equipment and supply carts properly at shift end
- Distribute clean laundry during emergency conditions
- Maintain confidentiality of resident care information
