Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in laundry or housekeeping preferred
- Ability to perform physical tasks involving lifting and moving heavy objects
- Ability to follow safety and cleaning protocols
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of protected health information
- Availability to work full-time
- Willingness to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- Ability to maintain care and use of supplies and equipment
- Ability to maintain appearance of laundry areas for sanitation, order, and safety
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions about cleaning compounds and procedures
- Ability to push, pull, move, and lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a height of at least 5 feet
- Ability to carry or move such weight for a distance of 50 feet
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to laundry and chemical handling
- Understanding of fire safety policies
- Ability to use personal protective equipment correctly
- Good communication skills to report needs and incidents
Job Duties
- Perform daily laundry department activities in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Follow work and cleaning schedules
- Report accidents and incidents to supervisor
- Coordinate laundry services with nursing when working in resident areas
- Adhere to fire safety policies and procedures
- Use safety equipment when lifting or moving heavy objects
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of assigned work areas
- Follow proper chemical handling and mixing techniques
- Use personal protective equipment when handling infectious materials
- Keep supervisors informed of supply needs
- Keep work areas free of hazards
- Clean and store equipment and supplies properly
- Perform tasks according to established laundry procedures
- Distribute clean laundry and linen during emergencies
- Maintain confidentiality of resident care information
- Report unauthorized disclosures of confidential information
