Job Description

The LAUNCH program is a comprehensive and immersive training initiative designed to equip new employees with the skills and knowledge required to excel in various operational tracks within a long-term care or healthcare facility setting. This program emphasizes hands-on learning, development, and understanding of essential roles across multiple departments such as Laundry, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Dietary Aide/Cook, Resident Services, Life Enrichment, Administration, Payroll, Accounts Receivable, HR, and more. The name LAUNCH stands for Learn, Aspire, Understand, Navigate, Coordinate, and Heart, which reflects the holistic approach the program takes in preparing participants for successful careers within the organization.

Job Requirements

  • Be newly hired or recently employed in the organization
  • Select a preferred training track within the program
  • Commit to the full duration and schedule of the training sequence
  • Attend regular meetings and complete all assigned training activities
  • Participate in a final presentation and graduation event
  • Work the same hours as regular employees in the chosen department
  • Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and professionalism throughout the program

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong interest in healthcare or long-term care operations
  • Ability to commit to training hours and scheduled work shifts
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer literacy for completing documentation and presentations
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to different operational roles
  • Previous experience in healthcare or customer service is a plus

Job Duties

  • Participate in hands-on training and complete assigned hours in the chosen track
  • Attend weekly group meetings with directors to discuss progress and challenges
  • Demonstrate proficiency in daily operational tasks related to the track
  • Complete educational and training modules relevant to the role
  • Maintain accurate documentation and complete assessments as required
  • Engage with residents, families, and team members to build positive relationships
  • Present a final narrative and participate in a graduation ceremony upon program completion
