Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of dispatch experience in a law enforcement agency
- Valid POST Public Safety Dispatcher Basic Certificate
- Ability to work under limited supervision
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong problem solving and decision making abilities
- Ability to work in a high stress, fast paced environment
- Availability to work 24-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Valid POST Public Safety Dispatcher Basic Certificate
- Minimum two years of dispatch experience in a law enforcement agency
- Proven ability to function with limited supervision
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task and make decisions under pressure
- Demonstrated integrity and ethics in work performance
- Problem solving and decision making skills
- Spanish speaking skills are highly desirable
Job Duties
- Transmit and receive radio, telephone, teletype messages, and other electronic communications equipment
- Receive and process routine and emergency calls for service
- Determine nature and priority of calls and dispatch appropriate equipment and personnel
- Secure and record information of transmissions
- Provide routine information and assistance to the public over the telephone
- Operate CLETS teletype and computer terminal or related equipment
- Monitor various multi-channel radio frequencies
- Perform routine clerical and record keeping work
- Act as lead supervisor in his/her absence
- Uphold organizational values and maintain strong customer service orientation
- Perform other related projects and duties as assigned
- Demonstrate regular, reliable and punctual attendance
