Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in professional cooking or airline meal preparation
- Knowledge of production operations and quality control procedures
- Ability to use knives and industrial kitchen equipment
- Understanding of food safety standards including FDA and HACCP
- Ability to accurately log production data and maintain records
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen duties
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of airline meal preparation processes and equipment
- Experience with various cooking techniques including broiling, batch cooking, sautéing, poaching, baking, frying, and blanching
- Ability to operate industrial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with FDA, HACCP, and other food safety regulations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes precisely
- Experience in quality control and food production documentation
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Job Duties
- Prepare high quality airline meals in accordance with company standards and menu specifications
- Operate industrial kitchen equipment such as gas ranges, broilers, ovens, deep fryers, tilt skillets, and slicers
- Follow recipes to exact specifications to ensure consistency and quality
- Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, FDA, HACCP, and other regulatory standards
- Maintain proper inventory levels and quality of food supplies
- Log all necessary information accurately for audits and safety
- Minimize production disruptions and resolve or report operational issues promptly
