Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Five years of maintenance experience
Valid Arkansas driver’s license with fewer than 12 points on the Motor Vehicle Record
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including hearing, talking, kneeling, sitting, standing, stooping, walking, balancing, climbing, crouching, driving, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, and repetitive motion
Commitment to follow safety guidelines and regulations
Proof of legal authority to work in the United States
Willingness to undergo pre-employment screening including criminal background check, drug testing, and education verification
Ability to work in a team environment
Excellent communication skills
Flexibility to perform additional duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or GED
Five years of maintenance experience
Valid Arkansas driver’s license with fewer than 12 points on the Motor Vehicle Record
Proficiency in landscaping and groundskeeping techniques
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
Ability to operate and maintain landscaping and maintenance equipment
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Commitment to safety and adherence to regulations
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Bachelor’s degree in business, education, general liberal arts, or related field plus three years of project management or office coordination (preferred)
Six to ten years of landscaping and groundskeeping experience with an additional five years in a supervisory capacity (preferred)

Job Duties

Perform routine care of campus grass and ornamental grasses including mowing, edging, trimming, seeding, and fertilizing
Prepare, install, and maintain decorative landscaping including planting and caring for flowers, shrubs, trees, and other plants
Oversee and adjust watering schedules for grass and plant beds
Monitor landscape health and apply pest and disease control solutions
Inspect, maintain, and repair building systems including boilers, air handlers, HVAC systems, and plumbing
Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and prolong system lifespan
Respond to service calls, troubleshoot issues, and perform general repairs
Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards and document maintenance activities
Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or facility improvement projects
Assist in clearing and maintaining roads, walkways, and parking areas during inclement weather
Evaluate conditions of exterior surfaces and report or resolve hazards
Complete work order documentation in the maintenance tracking system
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support departmental and institutional goals
