Job Requirements

  • Must have a current, valid driver's license
  • must be insurable
  • minimum one year of landscape technician experience
  • ability to perform physical labor including lifting up to 50 pounds frequently
  • ability to work in inclement weather conditions
  • ability to supervise inmate work crews
  • ability to operate landscaping machinery and tools
  • ability to perform clerical duties related to maintenance
  • ability to comply with safety and security protocols
  • ability to work overtime and respond to service calls during non-standard hours

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of landscape technician experience
  • valid driver's license
  • knowledge of machines and tools related to landscaping
  • familiarity with local, state, or national security operations policies
  • proficiency in English language including reading and writing
  • ability to operate Microsoft Office and other office equipment
  • capability to perform routine equipment maintenance
  • strong communication and public interaction skills
  • ability to complete work with minimal supervision
  • demonstrate loyalty and integrity
  • ability to work flexible schedules and overtime
  • ability to safely pull and operate utility trailers

Job Duties

  • Mow and maintain lawn areas
  • maintain sprinkler systems and assist in repair and installation
  • perform routine maintenance of lawn and power equipment
  • plant grass, trees, shrubs, and flowers
  • install sod and landscape materials
  • apply chemicals such as fertilizer and pest control
  • maintain and adjust landscaping equipment and tools
  • operate zero turn mowers, trucks, trimmers, and other equipment
  • perform custodial maintenance tasks
  • haul, store, and dispose of materials
  • open, close, lock, and unlock facilities
  • perform clerical work related to reports, evaluations, inventory, and work orders
  • perform physical activities like climbing, lifting, and balancing
  • handle and move materials using hands and arms
