Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to read, write and follow directions
  • One year of experience in boating or fishing activities
  • Experience handling money in the workplace
  • Obtain Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification with Anaphylaxis and Epinephrine Auto Injector Certification within the first six months of employment

  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to de-escalate situations with frustrated customers
  • Ability to prioritize customer service based on assistance needed

Job Duties

  • Supervise lake users in a variety of water-based recreational activities
  • Rent jon boats, canoes, kayaks, trolling motors and issue personal flotation devices ensuring proper fit
  • Issue boating and fishing permits and collect fees for permits
  • Maintain cash drawer and keep accurate records of fees collected
  • Perform basic equipment and inventory checks and determine repair needs
  • Provide the public with information regarding rules and regulations and assist patrons with guiding crafts in waterways
  • Supervise parks and waterways for safety and compliance with rules and regulations
