Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • knowledge of grounds and facility maintenance principles
  • ability to operate various mowing and maintenance equipment
  • ability to prepare and maintain inventory records
  • ability to direct, train, and evaluate temporary staff
  • obtain Red Cross First Aid and CPR training within 90 days
  • obtain Registered Technician and 3B Turf Management licenses within 90 days
  • valid motor vehicle operator license

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • knowledge of theories and principles in grounds and facility maintenance
  • ability to operate trucks and equipment such as mowing equipment, weed eater, chain saw, aerator, rototiller, small tractor, and hand tools
  • ability to prepare and maintain accurate inventory records
  • ability to direct, train, coordinate, and evaluate temporary part-time staff
  • willingness to obtain Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification within 90 days
  • willingness to obtain Registered Technician and 3B Turf Management licenses through OISC within 90 days
  • ability to legally operate a motor vehicle

Job Duties

  • Prepare and submit proposals, equipment requirements, and material needs to Sports Division Supervisors
  • schedule, direct, and assist work crews in maintenance of sports facilities including mowing, aeration, fertilization, irrigation, field lighting, scoreboard maintenance, re-sodding, seeding, infield grooming, and facility cleaning
  • assist in maintenance operations of Twin Lakes Recreation Center including repair and upkeep of fitness equipment, snow removal, and facility cleaning
  • assist with recruitment, training, management, and evaluation of seasonal employees
  • work in all conditions and times as required by scheduled events
  • assist division staff at special events and schedule work crews for weekend league games and tournaments
  • ensure and maintain a safe work environment at all facilities
