Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience from accredited institutions
  • Experience with lab equipment management and maintenance
  • Ability to provide technical and mechanical support for instructional simulations
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in installing and troubleshooting instructional software
  • Ability to supervise student assistants
  • Experience coordinating lab space and equipment usage
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Commitment to supporting diverse academic environments

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience from accredited institutions
  • Master’s degree preferred or at least 2 years of related work experience
  • Experience maintaining and repairing fitness equipment preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience managing labs in health and human service fields preferred
  • Experience working with faculty and medical professionals preferred
  • Ability to build authentic partnerships with faculty, staff, students, and community partners
  • Technical skills including report development, focus group facilitation, and project management
  • Ability to practice independent decision making on complex projects

Job Duties

  • Provide technical and mechanical support for simulations, interprofessional education and research approved by Director of Operations
  • Manage and operate labs and technical equipment within CHHS
  • Maintain, upgrade, and repair technical equipment in labs ensuring functionality and requesting parts and replacements as needed
  • Install and troubleshoot programs used for instruction
  • Serve as primary point of contact for faculty, staff, students, and community partners' lab equipment and software needs
  • Coordinate space planning of labs to optimize teaching, research, and community engagement
  • Serve as IT's point of contact for shared lab computers within the college
  • Assist Director of Operations with lab space renovations by identifying potential space conflicts, equipment needs and solutions
  • Assist with scholarly research in labs by training faculty and staff, scheduling, setting up equipment, and providing technical troubleshooting support
  • Manage communication and documentation related to new initiatives and collaborations in lab spaces
  • Supervise lab space and operate technical equipment during community engagement activities, healthcare simulations, and interprofessional education programs
  • Train and supervise student office assistants responsible for routine lab monitoring and maintenance across CHHS managed spaces
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, community partners, faculty, and staff for research and interprofessional education projects
  • Cross-train to other operations and core service team members
