Job Requirements

  • Must have current Washington State Food Handler's permit
  • High school diploma or GED certification preferred
  • Able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
  • Able to work on weekends and holidays
  • Able to meet the professional appearance standards of the organization
  • Six months of food service experience preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Demonstrates good interpersonal skills in a diverse population
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently
  • Able to communicate and work effectively with physical and emotional developments of all age groups
  • Demonstrates experience in providing excellent customer service
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of working a computer for online training
  • Previous experience with modified diet preparation is helpful

Job Duties

  • Perform routine general service tasks such as collection of dirty trays and dish room tasks
  • Sanitize and clean kitchen, dining room, dish room, and patient units
  • Use specialty equipment effectively for making product
  • Assist day-to-day operations including relief coverage
  • Set up, break down, clean and sanitize work areas
  • Demonstrate courteous and cooperative behavior to patients, visitors, co-workers and staff
  • Portion food accurately within department standards
  • Maintain safe and sanitary work environment
  • Participate in departmental marketing promotions
  • Cooperate and participate in flexing hours during low census periods
  • Manage time effectively and utilize resources efficiently
  • Use proper food storage techniques
  • Maintain temperature records
  • Complete assigned jobs
  • Communicate customer feedback for follow-up
  • Operate dish machine and clean pots and pans
  • Participate in training new team members and ongoing education
  • Perform other related duties as required
