Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred
- Ability to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift
- Ability to perform physical duties such as lifting, bending, pushing, and kneeling
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to follow facility policies and procedures

- Ability to supervise and lead a team effectively
- Knowledge of food handling and safety regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties
- Supervise inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food preparation and service shifts
- Prepare, assist, or instruct inmate labor and team members in the preparation of quality foods according to planned menus, recipes, and work instructions in a timely manner
- Ensure all food is stored properly and in a sanitary manner
- Serve food during scheduled meal times according to department policies and procedures
- Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment to cook, prepare, and serve food according to recipes
- Follow all food safety regulations related to sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Train other food service workers
- Maintain a clean work area and environment including cleaning refrigerators, freezers, cooking, and serving equipment
- Follow facility uniform policy
- Keep kitchen floors and garbage collection areas clean
- Promote a healthy and safe work environment
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
- Perform other related duties as assigned
